Hi, I’m Simone, and I’m the co-founder of this support group for people under 50 living with a stoma in the Milton Keynes area.

My journey with a stoma began after my colon perforated, leading to sepsis. I was placed in a medically induced coma for two weeks and spent seven weeks in intensive care. It was a life-threatening experience and the road to recovery was long, challenging, and at times incredibly isolating.

When I finally returned home, I struggled with the emotional and practical aspects of adjusting to life with a stoma. I quickly realised how few spaces existed for people like me — younger adults living with a colostomy or ileostomy, facing unique challenges that only fellow ostomates can truly understand.

That realisation inspired me to create this group: a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space where others like me can connect, share, and support one another. Whether you're newly adjusting or years into your journey, this group is here to make sure you don’t have to face it alone.

Together, we can build confidence, find community, and support each other through the ups and downs of life with a stoma.
